Cholecystitis is inflammation of the gallbladder. The gallbladder is a small pouch that sits just under the liver. The gallbladder stores bile produced by the liver. The gallbladder holds a digestive fluid that's released into your small intestine (bile). After meals, the gallbladder is empty and flat, like a deflated balloon. Before a meal, the gallbladder may be full of bile and about the size of a small pear. In response to signals, the gallbladder squeezes stored bile into the small intestine through a series of tubes called ducts. Bile helps digest fats, but the gallbladder itself is not essential. Removing the gallbladder in an otherwise healthy individual typically causes no observable problems with health or digestion yet there may be a small risk of diarrhea and fat malabsorption.
In most cases, gallstones blocking the tube leading out of your gallbladder cause cholecystitis. This results in a bile buildup that can cause inflammation. Other causes of cholecystitis include bile duct problems, tumors, serious illness and certain infections.
Symptoms
Signs and symptoms of cholecystitis may include:
Severe pain in your upper right or center abdomen
Pain that spreads to your right shoulder or back
Tenderness over your abdomen when it's touched
Nausea
Vomiting
Fever
Causes
Cholecystitis occurs when your gallbladder becomes inflamed. Gallbladder inflammation can be caused by:
Gallstones: Most often, cholecystitis is the result of hard particles that develop in your gallbladder (gallstones). Gallstones can block the tube (cystic duct) through which bile flows when it leaves the gallbladder. Bile builds up, causing inflammation.
Tumor: A tumor may prevent bile from draining out of your gallbladder properly, causing bile buildup that can lead to cholecystitis.
Bile duct blockage: Kinking or scarring of the bile ducts can cause blockages that lead to cholecystitis.
Infection: AIDS and certain viral infections can trigger gallbladder inflammation.
Blood vessel problems: A very severe illness can damage blood vessels and decrease blood flow to the gallbladder, leading to cholecystitis.
Other causes include:
1) Injury to the abdomen from burns, sepsis or trauma, or because of surgery
2) Shock
3) Immune deficiency
4) prolonged fasting
5) Vasculitis

This problem is reported by 1 in every 5 men and it is becoming more common in Ghana. The severity increases with advancing age.
Low sexual libido is entirely different from ED in the sense that men with ED usually have libido (urge to have sex) but the body fails to respond.
